The varsity girls basketball team fell to an athletic Killeen squad Friday night. The Tigers showed tremendous promise in the first half, using a big run to take a one-point lead into halftime. However, a 19-point third quarter by the Kangaroos created a deficit that proved too difficult to overcome.
Dylan Waldrep stepped up in the absence of the starting post, contributing six points and playing a vital role defensively. Isabella Warner’s 19 points and Ke’Ara Shanks’ six were also key performances. The girls will be back in action Tuesday night, taking on state runner-up Liberty Hill at 6:30.
