The Belton Freshman Red basketball team kicked off their season in dominant fashion, securing a decisive 49-24 road victory over the Burnet Bulldogs on November 18th. The impressive win was a showcase of speed, defense, and excellent team depth, setting a high bar for the season ahead.
The young Tigers wasted no time establishing control, thanks to suffocating defense and an efficient attack on the offensive end. The win was truly a great team effort, with multiple players contributing significantly to the scoreboard.
Offensive Leaders Shine:
Leading the charge for Belton was Ja'reus Mitchell, who led all scorers with 12 points. Mitchell was aggressive on both ends of the floor, providing a spark plug for the offense and ensuring the ball moved crisply.
He was closely followed by Jakobe Robinson, who added 9 points with key buckets coming in crucial moments. The attack was rounded out by strong performances from Braylen King and Bentley Stauffer, who both chipped in 8 points each, demonstrating the balanced scoring attack this team possesses.
