The Belton Freshman Boys White Basketball team played a thrilling and closely contested game on Tuesday evening, ultimately falling to Eastview with a final score of 46-40. The young Tigers showcased impressive tenacity and competitive spirit throughout the matchup, which saw them battle back and forth with their opponent. Despite the loss, several players stepped up and delivered notable performances. R. Alaniz (24) led the scoring effort for the Tigers, putting up 10 points on the day with a mix of sharp shooting and aggressive drives to the basket. His offensive output helped keep Belton within striking distance until the final whistle.
The team’s defense and hustle were key factors in keeping the game tight. L. Brown (15) was a consistent force, delivering an impressive effort on both sides of the ball. His energy and defensive intensity created problems for Eastview's offense, and his hustle plays gave the Tigers extra opportunities. On the boards, T. Lundberg (30) was a presence, rebounding well throughout the game to limit Eastview's second-chance points and fuel Belton's transition game. While the final result was not the desired outcome, the Belton Freshman White Tigers demonstrated significant heart and showcased a promising foundation for the remainder of their season.
