The Belton Freshman Red team experienced a tough lesson in finishing games on Tuesday night, battling fiercely before ultimately falling 50-47 to the East View Patriots.

The Tigers started strong, executing their game plan effectively and jumping out to an early lead. Belton successfully maintained that advantage throughout the first three quarters, controlling the tempo and showing great energy. Unfortunately, East View ramped up their defensive pressure in the final period, and the Tigers were unable to hold onto the lead, with the Patriots edging ahead halfway through the fourth quarter.

The loss provides a great learning opportunity for the squad to focus on closing out tight opponents. Ja'reus Mitchell had a phenomenal performance, leading all scorers with 23 points, showcasing his ability to lead the team offensively. While the outcome wasn't what they hoped for, the team showed resilience and will undoubtedly use this experience to improve their execution and finish in upcoming contests.
