The Belton JV Tigers faced off against a tough Lake Belton squad in a highly anticipated cross-town matchup, ultimately falling by a score of 35-56. The game began as a gritty, back-and-forth affair with both teams fighting for local bragging rights. At the halftime break, the Tigers were right in the thick of it, trailing by only five points. The energy was high, and it appeared the game would come down to the final wire as Belton effectively limited Lake Belton’s rhythm early on.

However, the second half proved to be a different story as the Tigers struggled to find their offensive flow. Despite creating several high-quality scoring opportunities, Belton was unable to capitalize on open looks and went through a scoring drought that allowed Lake Belton to extend their lead.

Amidst the offensive frustrations, Hunter Hurst remained a consistent bright spot for the Tigers. Hurst led the team’s scoring effort with 10 points, fighting through the defense to keep Belton’s hopes alive. While the result wasn't what the team hoped for, the Tigers are going to identify how to turn those open looks into buckets. They remain focused on refining their execution as they prepare for their next outing, determined to bounce back from this mid-season hurdle.
