On Saturday at the Region VI-5A Championship Meet in College Station, Junior Kirra Martin led the way in scoring by making it to Finals in both of her events. In the 100 Backstroke, Kirra Martin finished 5th overall with a lifetime best of 1:00.06. As of Sunday morning, Kirra Martin's time was one of the next 8 fastest times behind the automatic qualifiers across all eight 5A Regions, officially placing Kirra in the 100 Backstroke at UIL-5A State Championships! Kirra Martin finished 5th amongst all call-ups and is currently seeded 14th in the state!

Kirra Martin will swim on Friday, February 20th in the UIL-5A State Prelims. If Kirra finished in the top 16 on Friday, she will qualify for the UIL-5A State Finals on Saturday and have an opportunity to place Belton on the scoreboard at State!
