The Lady Tiger Soccer team put together a dominant performance Tuesday night at Wilson-Kerzee Field, defeating Waco High School 8-0 to remain unbeaten in district play.
Belton wasted no time setting the tone, as an early own goal by Waco gave the Lady Tigers a 1-0 advantage. From there, the offense continued to apply pressure and capitalize on opportunities. Destiny Schutz extended the lead, followed by goals from Abby Idoux and Adriana Jaimes to keep momentum firmly on Belton’s side.
Karington Kopriva added two goals on the night, finding the back of the net off assists from Michaela Dvonch and Lauren McKinney. Schutz capped off her strong performance with her second goal of the match, helping the Lady Tigers take a commanding 5-0 lead into halftime.
Belton added three more goals in the second half to close out the 8-0 victory, showcasing depth and unselfish play throughout the lineup.
In goal, Destiny Mendez secured the shutout, anchoring a defensive effort that limited Waco’s opportunities all evening.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 3-0 in district play and 4-5-2 overall.
Next up, Belton returns to Wilson-Kerzee Field to host Lake Belton High School as district play continues.
