Another great night for our girls at the Temple Invitational as we picked up another 2nd Place team finish. Seven of our twelve lifters placed in the top 5, led by Riley Lawhon, Anahi Perez, and Byonka Donaldson with 1st Place medals. Riley increased her season best total by 10 lbs with 665 lbs to get the top finish. Anahi shattered her old career best total by 85 lbs for a total of 830 lbs on the night to hold off her competition. Byonka did the same by improving 100 lbs over her career best lift with a total of 980 lbs on the night. It was extraordinary improvement by Anahi and Byonka. Ciaran Messersmith picked up a 3rd place finish by lifting a season best 575 lbs. Claire Gouveia grinded out a 4th place finish in a very competitive weight class. Rachel Truitt and Saniya Huston rounded out the scoring with 5th place finishes. Overall, it was a great night by our team with several personal achievements. Our next meet is at Lake Belton HS on Thursday for a last chance to qualify for the Regional meet, which is March 7.
