In a thrilling three-set match against East View, Freshman Red rallied to a hard-fought victory after dropping the opening set. East View took an early edge by clinching a close first set 25-22. The team answered back in a grueling, high-stakes marathon during the second set, narrowly taking it 34-32 to force a tiebreaker. Riding that momentum into the final frame, the team closed out the match with a decisive 25-19 victory in the third set.

The win was driven by several standout individual performances across the court. Raelynn Saldana anchored the team's back-row defense with a game-high 7 digs while adding 2 assists and an ace. At the net, Grace Thomas set the offensive pace by leading the team with 4 kills alongside 2 blocks. Ava Baggett provided strong multi-faceted play with 3 kills, 2 aces, and a dig, while Madi Lewis applied pressure from the service line with 3 aces to go along with a dig.

Freshman White dropped a hard-fought two-set match to East View, falling 25-23 in a tight opening frame before dropping the second set 25-15. Despite fighting closely through the first set, the squad was unable to swing momentum in the second to force a decider.

Several players produced solid individual efforts despite the loss. Izzy Alvarado spearheaded the team's serving with 3 aces to go along with 1 kill. On the attack, Adi Collins led the squad with 2 kills, while Ava Davies, Kaitlyn Copeland, and Shinyea Kamprath each recorded a kill.

Overall it was a hard fought night for the Tigers. Both freshman teams look forward to the BISD Subvarsity Showdown this week on Thursday and Saturday at Belton High School.
