The Belton High School swim and dive team competed in a double dual meet on September 30 against Lake Belton, New Tech, and Austin High School. The Tigers showed determination and competitive spirit throughout the meet, earning several strong finishes across individual events and relays. Both the boys and girls teams continued to gain valuable race experience as they worked to improve their times and compete against a challenging field of swimmers.
Leading the way for the Tigers, Jamie Hall captured first place in the girls 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.33 and the girls 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.53. The girls 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hall, Martin, Ema Whitzel, and Lillie Pasco placed second, while the girls 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hall, Martin, Whitzel, and Pasco finished first. On the boys side, Wyatt Nelson placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.15, Adrien Oros finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.95, and the boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Oros, Nelson, Micah Rodriguez, and Luke Brunsting placed second in 1:46.53. The boys 400-yard freestyle relay team of Oros, Nelson, Rodriguez, and Brunsting also earned a second-place finish.
Belton's swimmers continued to battle in every event, with the team gaining important experience and opportunities to build momentum for the remainder of the season. The Tigers will look to carry these individual and relay performances into their upcoming meets as they continue working toward their goals. In the combined team scores, Belton defeated New Tech High School, 226–123, while falling to Lake Belton High School, 248–217, and Austin High School, 397–183. In the boys division, Belton defeated Lake Belton, 113–99, and New Tech, 117–89, while falling to Austin, 216–87. In the girls division, Belton defeated New Tech, 109–34, and fell to Lake Belton, 149–104, and Austin, 181–96.
