The Belton Tigers Freshman Red football team put on a masterclass in all three phases of the game, dominating the Waco University Trojans in a statement 34-0 shutout victory. Belton came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, combining a fast-paced, high-efficiency offense with an unyielding defensive performance. From the opening whistle, the Tigers dictated the tempo, scoring on every single offensive drive of the first half while completely suffocating the Trojans' offensive attack to earn the well-deserved shutout.
The offensive unit executed with surgical precision, sparked by an unbelievable outing from quarterback Apollo Palomares, who remarkably finished the night with more touchdown passes than incompletions. Palomares threw three touchdown strikes: a 17-yard dart to Paxton Standeford in the end zone, a 54-yard deep homerun ball to Ethan Bass, and a 33-yard touchdown connection to tight end Hudson Foxx on a beautifully executed wheel route. Running back Isaiah Harris added two explosive touchdowns of his own, first turning an option pitch into a breathtaking 56-yard house call on a one-play drive, and later punching in a 3-yard score after a massive 44-yard pass from Palomares to Cannon Carroll set up the goal-line opportunity. Kicker Peyton Pascoe capped off the scoring effort, going a reliable 4-for-5 on extra-point attempts.
Defensively, the Tigers were relentless from start to finish, refusing to yield a single point to the Trojan offense. Linebacker Carter Stroker turned in a masterclass performance, making critical tackles across the field and commanding the defense with total authority. In the trenches, the aggressive defensive line consistently penetrated the backfield to rack up tackles for loss, teaming up with the linebackers to tally 4 total sacks. The secondary added to the chaos by forcing three turnovers, with Cooper Chambley, Ethan Bass, and Michael Gallegos each snagging an interception to repeatedly hand the ball back to the Belton offense.
With the game well in hand by halftime, the second half provided a valuable opportunity for the entire roster to step onto the field and contribute to the dominant win. Every player got in on the action, continuing to uphold the team's high standard of execution and showcasing the tremendous depth across the Freshman Red squad. It was a complete, disciplined performance that highlights the Tigers' momentum and growth as they continue their march through the season.
