Congratulations to Tiger softball on going 3-1 in the Austin Hyde Park tournament and advancing to the gold bracket of the tournament.

On Friday, the Tigers faced Veritas and won 18-1. Lucy Liu Gaines Lucas took the mound and threw 4 innings with 0 earned runs and 5 strikeouts and only 3 hits. On defense Brysen Gott and Iris Molina also had incredible diving plays for the Tigers. Offensively the Tigers were incredibly strong led by Andalyn Logan with 3 home runs and a single on the game with 8 RBI's. The offense continued with Reagan Stuart going 2 for 2, Brysen Gott, Ramsey Evans Curran, and Gaines all going 3 for 4 at the plate to help get the Tigers to 19 hits on the game.

The Tigers followed this game with a win over Lampasas 8-1 with Stuart on the mound allowing only 1 run and 3 hits but got 4 strikeouts on the game. Offensively the Tigers had a slow start but broke it open with big hitting from 2 singles from Molina and 1 single and 1 home run fromEvans Curran. Overall it was a great battle from the Tigers to push for an 8-1 win.

Last game of the day on Friday was against Valor where the Tigers completed the undefeated day 18-0 and pushed themselves into the gold bracket of the tournament. Miley Davila took the mound and threw a 1 hitter with 8 strikeouts. Molina led the offense with 4 hits, 3 of which were triples. Hailey-Jane Holder had a solo home run for the Tigers. Logan, Evans Curran, and Gott also added 6 hits for the team and rounded out the offense.

On Saturday morning the Tigers faced South West Christian from Fort Worth and fell short losing 3-10 and being eliminated from the tournament. The Tigers started the game off well but due to injury struggled to find consistency in the field as well as at the plate. Stuart led the offense with 2 hits including a solo home run. Schutz was not far behind going 2 for 3 at the plate and having incredible battles during at bats. Gaines started the game on the mound for the Tigers and Davila came in to close the game.

Overall this weekend was a great learning experience as the Tigers head into open district against Lake Belton on Tuesday February 27th at 6:30 pm.
