Wall of Honor Inductees 2000-2009

Ian Pecoraro – Baseball – 2000

Pecoraro was named All-State by the Coaches in 2000. He had a 3-1 record with an ERA of 3.04 as a Jr in 1999 on a Tiger team that went 26-6 & finished ranked 6th. In 2000, he was a 5’10” 140 lb pitcher with a record of 10-5 and an ERA 0f 2.06. He set a school record for strikeouts with 143 for a team that finished 21-12 before falling in the Regional Finals.

He went on to play at Temple College and SWT.

Nathan Warrick – Baseball – 2002

Warrick was named All-State by the Texas High School Coaches as a Sr in 2002. He hit .400 as a JR in 2001 & .389 as a Sr in 2002, with 38 RBI’s & 18 stolen bases.

Nathan was Belton’s top athlete as a Sr, he was a Wr & QB, he was also named Offensive MVP of the District. He originally signed with Sam Houston State to play football but was released to sign with the University of Texas for baseball. He later transfered to UT Arlington were he was an All-Conference selection. He went on to play 3 years in the Minor Leagues.

Brad McGehee – Baseball – 2002

McGehee was named 4A All-State shortstop as a Sr in 2002. He hit .302 as a Jr & .430 as a Sr, with a school record 58 hits, 9 HR’s and 56 runs scored. The combination of McGehee and Brauer turned 36 double plays in 2002, a Texas state record.

He went on to play at McLennan County JC.

Maxine James – Powerlifting – 2002

Maxine won a State Championship in 2002 at the State Powerlifting meet. She had a squat of 360, bench of 180 & a deadlift of 350lbs to total 890lbs. Her total was good for a 1st place finish in her weight class in 2002.

She also finished 7th in the shotput at the state track meet as a soph & finished 6th as a Sr in 2002.

Brett Heitmiller – Basketball – 2002

Brett was named All-State by Texas Basketball Magazine, she was a 3 year starter for the Tigers. She was the District MVP as a Jr & Sr, averaged 11.1 pts, 4 assists, 3.9 rebounds & 4 steals a game as a SR. She was also a standout on the volleyball team, was a 2 year starter & was named the Districts defensive player of the year.

She went on to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game. Then played 2 years at Sam Houston State University & 2 years at UMHB.

Stefanie Douglas – Volleyball – 2002

Stefanie was named All-State 3 years for the Tigers. She was 4-A All-State as a Soph & Jr & 5A All-State as a Senior in 2002. She led the Tigers to 3 straight District Titles.

Douglas had 382 kills and 172 blocks as soph, 450 kills & 157 blocks as a Jr, 447 kills & 170 blocks as a Sr.

She went on to start at The University of Florida.

Drew Candlin – Baseball – 2003

Drew was named 5-A All-State by the Baseball coaches as a Sr in 2003. He was also named All-District for 3 years. He hit .340 as a soph, .321 with 4 HR’s & 44 RBI’s as a Jr, .438 with 9 HR’s & 44 RBI’s as a Sr.

He went on to play 2 years at Temple College the at Columbus State, where he was All Conference & All Region. Columbus State also played in the Division II College World Series.

2003 – Drew Candlin Full Write Up

Ramonce Taylor – Football / Track – 2002-2004

Ramonce was a 2-time 5A All-State selection and was the Class 5-A Long Jump State Champion. He rushed for 2,371 yds and scored 32 touchdowns as a Sr.

He was a 3-time All-District selection as a PG on the Tiger basketball team as well as being named All-Centex for 2 years. He averaged 44 pts a game as a Sr.

Ramonce won the gold at the State Track meet his Jr & Sr year in Long Jump. He jumped 25' as a Jr & 23’4? as a Sr.

He went on the play running back at The University of Texas & scored a touchdown for the longhorns in the 2005 National Championship game against USC.

William Bell – Football – 2003

Bell was named 5-A All-State by the Associate Press as a Sr in 2003. He was a 3 year starter at Defensive End of the Tigers. He record 39 tackles (19 for loss) 60 assists and 19 QB sacks as a Jr, 68 tackles (26 for loss) 101 assists, 11 sacks, 5 forced fumbles & 4 fumble recoveries as a Sr.

Was named the Districts Defensive Player of the Year as a Sr. He signed with Oklahoma State University to play football.

Matt Braeuer – Basketball – 2004

Was named 1st Team 5-A All-State by the Coaches Association as a Sr in 2004. Matt was a three sport star, was All-District in CC 3 years & a District Champion as a Jr, Was Belton’s starting 2nd baseman for 3 years.

He averaged 16 pts, 4 rebounds, 5 assists & 4 steals as a Jr. As a Sr he averaged 22.6 pts, 4.8 steals & 4.7 assists. Matt was a 3 year starter at point guard for Wichita State and was team’s 2nd leading scorer with 12 ppg as a Sr in 2008.

Blake Holt – Football / Baseball – 2004-2005

Named 5-A All-State in football & baseball as a Sr in 2004-2005. As a Sr in 2004 he led Belton with 75 solo tackles & 99 assists. Was named 2nd team All-State by Tx sportswriters.

He was also a 3 year starter in baseball; he hit .313 as a Soph, .357 as a Jr & .453 as a Sr with 7 HR’s, 50 RBI’s & a school record of 59 runs & 9 triples.

In 2005 he was also named the District Co-MVP.

Was only the 7th Tiger to make All-State in 2 sports.

Lindsey Douglas – Volleyball – 2004

Was named 5-A All-State by the Texas Sportswriters as a Sr in 2004. As a Sr she led the Tigers with 417 kills & 48 aces. Defensively she recorded 331 digs & 66 blocks.

Lindsey went on to play volleyball at St Edwards.

Brooks Kimmey – Baseball – 2005

Was named 5-A All-State as a Sr in 2005 by the Texas Coaches & also the Texas Sportswriters.

Brooks was a 3 year starter for the Tigers. As a Jr he hit .341 & was named the District Defensive MVP as a catcher. As a Sr in 2005, he hit .455 with 4 HR’s, 37 RBI’s & 43 runs scored. Was the Districts Co-MVP.

He went on the play at Angelina College, Temple & Baylor University.

Was named 5-A All-State by the Texas High School Coaches in 2005 as a Sr.

As a Sr he hit .406 (.478 in District play) with 9 HR’s & 46 RBI’s.

Jonathan went on to play at Temple College & Texas State.

Quincy Daniels – Football – 2005

Was named 3rd Team All-State at RB by the Texas Sportswriters. As a Jr he rushed for 766 yds, as a Sr he rushed for 1738 yds with an average of 174 yds per game & 6.2 a carry. He also scored 19 TD’s as a Sr.

Quincy also placed 1st in the regional meet in powerlifting, 3rd in District in 100 meters & 4th in the 200 meters.

He was also an All Conference selection at UMHB.

Daliann James – Powerlifting – 2003-2006

Daliann won 4 consecutive Stat Championships in powerlifting from 2003-2006. In 2005 as a Jr, she won the 148lb division with a total of 955 (new state record) & also set a new state record for deadlift in the 148lb division. In 2006 as a Sr, she won the 165lb division with a total of 1035.

She is the only Belton Athlete to win 4 State Championships.

Daliann went on to win the Women’s National Powerlifting Championships in 2008 & 2009. She was the #1 ranked Junior in the World in 2009.

Brandon Wilde – Football – 2006

Brandon was named 5-A All-State DB as a Jr in 2006. As a soph Wilde had 28 solo tackles & 57 assists. As a Jr he led the Tigers with 64 tackles, 64 assists, 6 forced fumbles, 7 interceptions & 1 blocked field goal.

He was also a 2 time All-District selection in soccer.

He went on to play his Freshman year at The Air Force Academy.

Teesa Foxworth – Powerlifting – 2005-2006

Teesa won the 4-A State Powerlifting Title in the 105 lb division as a soph in 2005 & was a State Runner-up as a Jr in 2006.

In 2005 she totaled 570lbs (235 Squat, 100 Bench & 235 Deadlift).

Brianna Bozon – Softball – 2007

Brianna was named 5-A All-State in Softball as a soph in 2007 by the Texas Girls Coaches. She hit .404 her soph year with a slugging average of .685 and an on base percentage of .443; she had 36 hits (22 singles, 8 doubles, 1 triple & 5 HR’s). Defensively she played 3rd base & had a fielding % of .933 with only 1 error.

She went on to play at St. Edwards.

Ashley was the State Runner-Up in 2007.

Morgan Toone – Track – 2009

Morgan was a State Runner-Up in Pole Vaulty in 2009 at the State Track Meet. She was a 4-Time District Champion in Pole Vault. She finished 3rd at the State Track Meet in 2008. In 2009 she was the 4th ranked pole vaulter in the U.S.

She received a Track scholarship from Vanderbilt University. Where she competed in the SEC.

Joshua Caffey – Soccer – 2009

Josh was named to ESPN’s 2nd Team High School All-American Soccer team in 2009. He was an All-District selection 4 straight years for the Tigers. He was named the District’s Newcomer of the Year as a Fr in 2006 and the MVP of District 13-5A as a Jr in 2008 & as a Sr in 2009. He was elected to the Waco Tribune-Herald’s Super CenTex team for his Soph, Jr & Sr years and was named All-Regional for Region II by the TX Association of Soccer Coaches in 2009. As a Sr. Caffey was one of only four Texans named to ESPN’s 1st and 2nd team H.S. All-American soccer teams. Caffey was named as 2nd team All-American). He was also named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas H.S. Boys All-Region VI (the southwest U.S.) team in 2008. He went on to play Soccer at The University of New Mexico.

Shane Hoelscher – Baseball – 2009

Shane was named 2nd Team All-State by the Texas High School Coaches Association at shortstop as a Jr in 2009. He was named 1st Team All-State by the Texas High School Coaches Association & the Texas Sportswriters as a Sr in 2010.

Was named All-Centex by the Killeen, Waco & Austin newspapers as a Sr in 2010. He hit .411 with 14 HR’s.

He went on to sign and play baseball at Rice University.

Zac Sakaria – Football – 2009

Zac was named 1st Team All-State at Defensive Line as Sr. As a Sr he had 77 tackles (29 for loss). Was a 1st Team All-District selection for 2 years. Was named the Defensive MVP of the All-Area Team & was 1st team All-Centex.

Was also the District Champion in shotput. He went on to play at West Texas A&M.

Tim Bower – Football – 2009

Tim was named to the Texas Sports Writer’s All State Team in 2009. His Sr year he had 76 tackles (11 for loss), 2 forced fumbles, 9 sacks & 26 qb pressures. He was also named 1st Team All-District, 2nd team All-Area & was select to play in the FCA victory Bowl.

Tim went on to play at The University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
