The Tiger Softball program hosted part of the BISD JV tournament on Saturday. The Tigers started the afternoon by defeating Chaparral 6-5. The team put themselves in an early hole by giving up 5 in the top of the first inning. Errors by the Tigers and big hits by the Bobcats led to an early deficit. The Tigers did not give up and went on to score 6 runs in three innings to get the win. After a rough start, Natalie Goulet shut the Bobcats down for the rest of the game. She pitched very well with a great changeup working well for her. She ended up allowing 5 runs on 8 hits and 6 strikeouts and no walks. Kaydence McNeely was 1-2 with 2 rbi. The team was disciplined at the plate and worked 7 walks. The team faced Copperas Cove in the final game of the tournament. The won 5-1 in 3.5 innings. Addi Reed allowed 1 run and four walks while striking out 11. Marissa Hinojos and Natalie Stauffer were both 2-2. Reed and Stauffer helped the team with 2 rbis each. The team did really well all day. Thank you to parents who helped provide food. Thank you to varsity and JV players who helped get the field ready to play on after a night of heavy rain. We are proud of you!
