The Tiger Tennis competed in their first matches of the Fall Season this past weekend. Following try-outs the Tigers were primed and ready to match up against some unfamiliar competition.

On Friday, August 8th the Tigers traveled to Midway High School to take on the Panthers. They were a solid team from top to bottom and we pushed the team all match long. The final match counted ended in a 2-17 victory for Midway.

The following morning the Tigers traveled to Robinson to play against the Rockets. Coming out of doubles the team was trailing 3-4, and dropped a couple of singles matches to go 3-7. Feeling the pressure of defeat the players came together and rallied to rake off 7 wins to Robinson's 2 and claim victory. The final match count was 10-9, giving the Tigers their first win of the season and sit at 1-1 overall.

Saturday afternoon the team traveled across town to take on a sound China Spring team in the mid-day heat. The Tigers came out of doubles down 1-6, and gave it their all through singles as well. Unfortunately, it was not enough to win the match overall. The final match count was 4-15 and an overall record of 1-2 after the classic was over.

The Tigers start school this week and look to get their next win this Friday, August 15th at home against Leander Glenn. Come support your Tiger and Go Big Red!
