On Monday, November 3rd, the Belton Tigers traveled to Cleburne High School to compete against the Wilson Wildcats. Unfortunately, the Tigers did not have their best game and lost their match in three sets (20-25, 21-25, 10-25).
This loss does not reflect on the season the Tigers had. This group of young women have bought into everything we’ve been teaching them for the past few years and have put the work in to get them the success they’ve had this season on and off the court. The Tigers are finishing their season at a 31-14 record, which is the best finish at Belton High School in many years and possibly ever. The character that this group of players has is not something that is found everywhere in young athletes. Our program is lucky to have such genuine athletes that strive to be a good example and lead the way. We can smile knowing that we have given our athletes tools that they can use later in life to help them be successful.
Although tonight was not the outcome we all had hoped for, we are proud of the hard work these athletes have given. We are thankful for the season we had together and wish our seniors well on their next journey. We will continue to hold our heads high, give ourselves grace, and are ready to get after it in off season to continue raising our standard. As always, it’s always great to be a Tiger.
