The Belton Freshman Red basketball team displayed remarkable grit and resilience in securing a hard-fought 45-42 road victory against A&M Consolidated on Tuesday. Facing early adversity, the Tigers trailed by as many as nine points throughout the contest and entered the crucial fourth quarter down by five. However, the team refused to back down, executing a thrilling comeback fueled by clutch scoring and intense defense.
The victory was spearheaded by Bentley Stauffer, who led the scoring effort with 14 points, and Braylen King, who added 10 points. The defensive intensity was anchored by Abdiel Irizarry-Guerra, whose solid defense and energy off the bench provided the spark needed to close the gap and ultimately seal the 45-42 win. This effort proves the Freshman Red team possesses the character and fight required to succeed in close contests.
