The Tigers put their strength, preparation, and competitive mindset on full display at the BISD Invitational Powerlifting Meet, competing against a deep and talented field of 143 lifters across 12 weight classes. The meet was a great early-season test, and our athletes rose to the challenge on the platform.
Leading the way was Corbin Wittman, who turned in an outstanding performance in the 132-pound weight class, finishing 2nd overall with an impressive total of 1,000 pounds. Wittman’s consistency and composure under pressure highlighted the hard work he’s put in throughout the offseason.
Also delivering a strong showing was Jorge Guardiola, who competed in the 165-pound weight class and finished 4th overall with a 930-pound total. Guardiola’s performance reflected steady progress and toughness in a highly competitive class.
We are proud of every Tiger who competed last night. Each athlete represented our program with effort, discipline, and pride, and it’s clear that the work being done in the weight room is paying off. This meet was just the beginning, and we are excited about the momentum building as we move forward.
A special thank you to all of the Tiger athletes who volunteered their time to help run the meet, as well as to the coaches who stepped up to work the tables and ensure the event ran smoothly. Their willingness to serve made this a first-class event and a great experience for everyone involved.
The Tigers are looking ahead to an outstanding season and a lot of big weight being moved in the weeks to come.
Our next meet will be Saturday, January 24th, in Copperas Cove at S.C. Lee Middle School. We’re ready to get back on the platform and keep pushing the standard.
