The Belton High School girls soccer team competed in the Governors Cup in Georgetown this weekend, facing strong competition as the Tigers closed out tournament play.

Belton opened Thursday with a narrow 1–0 loss to Austin High School after conceding late in the second half. The Tigers defended well as a unit but lacked precision going forward. On Friday, Belton faced Colleyville Heritage and battled to a scoreless first half despite Heritage controlling possession. Two second-half breakdowns resulted in a 2–0 loss.

Tournament play concluded Saturday with a 0–0 draw against LASA in windy conditions. Belton spent much of the first half in the attacking half with the wind but struggled to create clear chances. The match evened out in the second half as both teams played into difficult conditions.

With tournaments complete, Belton will travel to Vista Ridge this Friday for a final tune-up before opening district play next week.
