Our girls kicked off the Powerlifting Season at the competitive BISD Invitational on Wednesday evening at the Mayborn Convention Center in Temple. 5 newcomers joined our team of veterans for this meet. Our 3 state qualifiers from last season jumped out of the gate with a great meet earning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes between them. Kennedy Weston lifted her 2nd best career total with 815 lbs and 3rd place. Byonka Donaldson tied her career best with 880 total lbs and a 2nd Place finish. Melissa Farmer achieved a new career best with 920 lbs and a 1st place finish. Claire Gouveia and Ciaran Messersmith rounded out the team scoring to give the team a 4th Place finish in the team standings. Claire totaled 620 lbs and 3rd place and Ciaran topped out at 550 lbs and a 5th place finish. Our next meet is in Copperas Cove on Saturday, Jan. 24. See you there!!
