Belton Varsity delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, defeating Lake Belton 78–58 in a statement win that showcased both firepower and depth. From the opening tip, the Tigers set the tone with pace, physicality, and purpose, controlling the game on both ends of the floor. The victory pushes Belton to an impressive 23–5 overall record and 3–1 in district play, continuing their momentum as one of the area’s most consistent teams.
Leading the charge was Ty Johnson, who poured in 29 points with outstanding all-around play. Johnson attacked the rim, knocked down shots from the perimeter, and consistently rose to the moment when Lake Belton attempted to make runs. Noah Childers added 13 points, doing so with high efficiency and poise, making the most of every opportunity and providing a steady presence throughout the game. Luke Munden was instrumental as a playmaker, controlling tempo, creating scoring chances for teammates, and making the right reads to keep the offense flowing.
Defensively, Belton was just as impressive. Gavin Ross turned in an outstanding defensive performance, applying constant pressure and disrupting Lake Belton’s rhythm. Daniel Briscoe and Abran Knight brought toughness and physical defense, winning key battles and setting the tone with their energy and grit.
