Varsity -
Isabella Warner's 9 rebounds and 3 assists were just what the Tigers needed to get the offense rolling in their 67-42 victory over Waco University Friday Night.
Even with back to back game days, the Tigers looked sharp as team ball proved to lead to their best shooting of the season. Defensive efforts from Laila Huston and Ke'Ara Shanks kept things under control on the other end of the floor. Olivia Henderson got to the free throw line on two accounts!
JV -
The JV Tigers played a much different game versus University this time around winning 36-27. The team took a big lead into halftime up 21-9. This was due Abigail Corona scoring 13 of her team high 15 points including three 3's. This was Corona's strongest performance of the year. Jada Gage, MIa Gonzalez, and Peytyn Sanderford did great rebounding and posting up to help the team inside. Lilian Baggett, Saniya Huston, and Corona played great defense holding their best players to only six made baskets all game. Except for an uncharacteristically slow third quarter, the team played with an aggressiveness and intensity that made sure University would not win on the Tiger's home court. We are proud of the hard work the team put in to work together for a great win. The Tigers travel to Chaparral on Tuesday.
Freshman A -
Freshman A had a strong showing verse University to complete the program sweep!
Mia Staley and Audrey Soosemea showed on the boards to keep the momentum going for the Tigers. Madelyn Rodriguez and Markayla Allen contributed high energy coming off the bench. Kylie Pierce and Anessa Ortiz stood out in transition offense taking care of the ball and pushing the pace. Amiayah Cruz's steals were cherries on top.
Freshman B (Vs. Lake Travis)
Freshman B rounded out their season on Friday night, unfortunately losing to a very talented Lake Travis.
Ansley Harvey's boards were crucial for the Tigers along with Anaya Rose's ball handling. Another stand out was the defense and hustle plays by Kamrie Moore and Mariah Johnson-Roberts. All around, it is evident that the B team grew throughout the season!
