Softball had an amazing weekend at Cedar Ridge going 4-1 and placing second place in the tournament.
Game 1 the Tigers faced Salado and won 12-6. The Tiger offense was alive with 10 hits in just 19 at bats. Andalyn Logan, Presli Thompson, and Reagan Stuart all had 2 hits a piece. Stuart took the mound to start the game and let up only 2 hits. Tara Stone took over for the last two innings letting up 4 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Game 2 the Tigers beat Cedar Ridge 7-5. Again the bats were alive with 9 hits, 3 of them by Logan. Stuart handled the mound for all 5 innings with only 2 earned runs.
Game 3 the Tigers beat Liberty Hill 5-4 in walk off fashion. Stone had 2 hits, one being a walk off double, and the other a home run. Logan was also on the board with 2 hits. Stone also threw all 5 innings with 5 strikeouts and 3 earned runs.
Game 4 the Tigers beat Cuero 8-6. The offense was alive with 14 hits. Stone with 3 and Logan, Thompson, Stuart, and Wheeler all with 2. Hanna Wheeler threw the first 4 innings with 7 strikeouts. Reagan Stuart came in to close with 1 strikeout and 0 runs.
Game 5 the Tigers faced Salado again for the championship. The Tigers fell 4-5 to take second place. Iris Molina, Andalyn Logan, Tara Stone, and Presli Thompson all went 2-3 at the plate and truly helped the offense hang on. Stone was on the mound until giving up a grand slam that tied up the game. Stuart came in to close but unfortunately gave up a walk off triple.
Overall it was an incredible weekend for the Tigers going 4-1 and placing 2nd place in the tournament. The Tigers look ahead to playing Salado at home on Tuesday 2/24 at 7 pm.
