Congratulations to Tiger Softball on their Area win this week.

On Tuesday the Tigers won 2-1 over Mesquite Poteet in 8 innings. Tara Stone took the circle for the Tigers for all 8 innings and only let up 1 run with 15 strikeouts. Andalyn Logan led the Tigers with 2 hits on the night. To score in the bottom of the 8th inning Hanna Wheeler took an impressive 7 pitch walk to get a runner on with 2 outs. Lauren Vazquez went in to run for her. At this point Jonna Hollingsworth hit a deep ball off the wall that scored Vazquez in a close play at home for the walk off win for the tigers.

On Thursday the Tigers won 8-6. Stone took the circle again and threw all 7 innings. This time she had 6 runs scored and 7 strikeouts. The Tiger offense was on fire with 11 hits. Logan and Stone led the team with 3 hits each. That includes 1 home run for Logan and 2 for Stone. Overall it was an incredible team win as the Tigers look forward to entering the Regional Semi Finals for the first time since 2019.
