B SOC: Tigers Get Gritty Win vs Ellison

The Tigers opened district play against Ellison last night. Leading up to the game, our mindset was good, and we took it to Ellison the first half. Our guys showed great effort and were beating the Ellison players to the ball. This allowed to create many first half chances. Our first goal was scored by sophomore forward, Jorge Hernandez 13 minutes into the game. Sophomore, Valentin Villanueva scored the 2nd of the night for the Tigers 20 minutes into the game. The first half of the game was an overall great performance by the Tigers.

Going into the 2nd half, Ellison came out with a lot more energy. The game was much more back and forth. The Tigers got some guys banged up and it gave a good opportunity for others to step up. We ended up seeing the game out and secure our 2-0 victory to start off district strong. We look to get healthy and give Waco University all they can handle this Friday.
