On Saturday the Tigers traveled to Westwood high School for a round robin scrimmage. After an hour delay for rain, the Tigers faced Anderson High school. Lucy Liu Gaines took the mound and threw 4.3 innings with only 2 earned runs and 3 strikeouts. The Tiger bats were alive with 2 hits from Hailey Schutz and Brysen Gott. Gott also led the team in RBI's with 3, followed closely by Andalyn Logan and Lole Reyes with 2 each. Overall this scrimmage woke up the Tiger bats and got the day started on the right foot.
Following the varsity scrimmage the JV Tigers took the field against Anderson JV team. Brooke Matamoros and Gabbi Heltness took the mound and each threw 2 innings a piece. Overall the JV Tigers got great experiences and learned a lot as they head towards the last week of scrimmages. Unfortunately due to lightning in the area their second scrimmage of the day against Westwood was cancelled.
To end the day the Varsity team took the field against Westwood in a game full of sunshine and rain. Schutz started the game with some great hitting and base running and collected 2 hits, 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs during the scrimmage. Reyes and Logan each hit well on the game with both collecting their first homerun of the 2024 season. Reagan Stuart took to the mound with only 2 earned runs and threw through rain and shine. Overall the tigers had a great outing at Westwood High School.
Come check out the Tigers at home on Tuesday February 6th at 5 and 7 pm for their scrimmage against Harker Heights High School. This is also the Softball team's Make-A-Wish night where they will be raising money for the foundation so come out and support.
