Congratulations to Varsity softball on winning their opening game of the season against Academy. The tigers won 11-3 with an impressive 16 hits. Reagan Stuart was on the mound for the Tigers and threw all 7 innings; with 4 strikeouts and only 3 earned runs. Offensively the Tigers had a great night with Iris Molina leading the pack going 2 for 3 with 2 singles. Lauren Vazquez and Andalyn Logan followed close behind going 3 for 5 on the night. Defensively the Tigers were strong with a double play for Molina and Lucy-Liu Gaines. Out in the outfield Jacklyn Munoz also had a diving catch to round out the solid defense. Overall it was a great night for the Tigers that showed promise for this season. Come check out the Tigers in their tournament in McGregor Thursday (2:15, 5:45, and 7:30 pm) and Saturday (1:15 and 4:45 pm) this weekend.
