On Tuesday, January 7th, the Belton Tigers Girls Basketball team took on Waco University Trojans in their second district game of the year.
The Trojans went off to a 10-0 start with 2 threes on the Tigers to start of the game with the Tigers only scoring 2 points to make up the deficit.
The Trojans had lead the whole game with the biggest lead being 8 points throughout the game. In the second half, the Tigers stepped up their effort on both sides of the ball with a four points from Genny Nelson and 2 points each from both Kadence Morales and Laila Huston to cut down the deficit. The Tigers came back within 1 point but unfortunately lost to the Trojans in regulation. The Tigers and Trojans will meet later in the season at Waco University.
The next game for the tigers will be at Chaparral on Friday, January 10th.
